Among the prominent obligations is the mandate to obtain explicit consent from data subjects before processing their personal data. Additionally, controllers must secure a permit from the Ministry before processing any personal data specified in Article (5) of the Law, ensuring strict compliance with regulatory requirements.

Furthermore, stringent controls have been imposed regarding the transmission of advertising or marketing materials to the personal data of data subjects. This measure aims to safeguard individuals’ privacy rights while curbing unsolicited communications.

Another pivotal requirement outlined in the regulation is the appointment of a Personal Data Protection Officer by entities processing personal data. This designated officer will oversee compliance with controls concerning personal data breaches and regulations governing the transfer and transmission of personal data across borders.

Moreover, controllers must establish a comprehensive register of personal data processing activities, providing transparency and accountability in data handling practices.
