Philadelphia Airport Can Again Accept Flights From Europe, Sources Say

An end is apparently in sight to the federal restriction that has prevented flights to Philadelphia International Airport from Europe.

The ban has prevented trans-Atlantic flights because Philadelphia International is not among the 15 "funneling airports“ where the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention can screen international passengers for covid-19.

"It is my understanding that this would all but solve any issues at PHL,“ said a congressional aide who asked not to be named.

Yahoo News first reported Wednesday that the U.S. government on Monday will stop conducting enhanced covid-19 screening of passengers on inbound international flights.
