Muscat: For the second day in a row, work is continuing to rescue a humpback whale stranded in the port of Duqm.A statement issued online by the Environment Authority said: "For the second day in a row, specialists at the Environment Authority, the Port of Duqm and the Five Oceans Company continue to work on saving a humpback whale that was caught in a group of nets and its movement was restricted inside the port of Duqm. The authority will publish the details of the rescue at a later time."The humpback whale is among the largest mammals, and its length reaches more than 15 meters and is classified as an endangered species, so it is prohibited to catch it, and its preservation is one of the environmental priorities that everyone must follow in order to preserve this type of living creatures," the statement added.
