Saudi Arabia, Portugal seek to boost economic ties during key meeting

Saudi Gazette report RIYADH “” Top officials representing Saudi Arabia and Portugal explored ways to strengthen economic relations between the two countries during the fifth Saudi-Portuguese Joint Committee meeting at the headquarters of the Saudi Ministry of Economy and Planning in Riyadh on Wednesday. The meeting was chaired by the undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy and Planning for International Economic Affairs Bandar Bin Abdul Mohsen Al-Khamis, while the Secretary of State for Internationalization Eurico Brilhante Dias chaired the Portuguese side. The meeting covered the most prominent economic and social developments and investment opportunities, which would contribute to creating many opportunities for cooperation, raising the volume of trade and investment exchange, exploiting investment opportunities, and creating valuable partnerships that strengthen relations between the two countries. Toward the end of the meeting, the two heads of the committee signed the minutes of the work of the joint committee in which 40 parties from both sides participated. The minutes included several areas of cooperation, namely trade and investment; finance and banking; science, technology and creativity; communication and information technology; education; sports; culture and tourism; health; environment; agriculture; sea and energy; transport and infrastructure; media and labor and social development.
