The UAE suspended flights from Zambia, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda.
Authorities barred all flights of national and overseas airlines as well as transit passengers arriving on them.
Transit flights travelling through the UAE and destined for the above countries are exempt from the ruling.
The decision was announced by the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority on social media on Wednesday.
The ruling will come into effect from 11.59pm on Friday.
