Video: Prized number plate, V 12, auctioned for Dhs7m in Dubai

Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) confirmed that at the 104th Open Auction for Distinctive Number Plates held on Saturday, August 22, it generated a total revenues of Dhs36.224m.

This figure marks an 83 per cent increase over the previous auction held in December 2019 which raked in Dhs19m.

The auction on Saturday was held at the InterContinental Dubai Festival City Hotel and was the first open auction of number plates conducted this year by the RTA in Dubai.

The RTA offered 90 number plates up for auction, comprising two-, three-, four- and five-digit combinations.
