UAE's Supy raises $1.5m in pre-seed funding

UAE - Mubasher: The UAE-based Supy, a startup that deploys digitalisation to connect restaurants with suppliers, has secured $1.5 million in pre-seed funding.

The funding round has been led by the UAE's investor COTU Ventures and the US-based Valia Ventures, marking their first investment in MENA, according to a press release on Tuesday.

Supy provides different restaurants of all sizes an easy-to-use solution for their ordering process and creates a digital communication between suppliers and restaurants, aiming to save costs and reduce wastage.

Co-founded by CEO Dani El Zein and CTO Ibrahim Bou Ncoula in January 2021, the platform serves more than 1,000 restaurants and suppliers across the UAE, including brands.

El Zein said: "Having spent the past decade in both the technology and F&B industries, I experienced first-hand the countless pain points that exist for both restaurants and suppliers when it comes to the ordering process. . This is not just a local problem, but a global one that plagues all stakeholders in the industry."

Meanwhile, Ncoula commented: "We aim to build seamless, world-class integrated software to transform this industry into scalable, efficient, and sustainable."
