UAE to host Airport Show in May
UAE - Mubasher: The 21st edition of Airport Show will take place at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) during 17-19 May to showcase the latest technology for sustainability and green airports.
The three-day event, held in partnership with air and travel services provider dnata, will launch e-Apron zone which will allow exhibitors to display electric and hybrid ground handling and support equipment, according to a press release.
The aviation market in the Middle East, which is more vulnerable to climate change than most regions, is expected to hit $23.07 billion in 2026.
Airport Show aims to encourage airports to set up green initiatives such as reducing carbon footprint across all operations while aligning their programmes to net-zero emissions by 2050.
Over 90 airports are forecast to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2030, while more than 357 airports worldwide, representing 46.1% of global air traffic, have successfully accredited the Airport Carbon Accreditation programme from the Airports Council International (ACI).
