Air passenger traffic in Oman rises 81%

Muscat – Passenger traffic at Oman’s airports in 2023 increased 81% till April to 4,209,846 compared to 2,324,007 in the same period in 2022, as indicated by the latest data from National Centre for Statistics and Information.
Muscat International Airport witnessed a significant increase in passenger numbers – 3,792,212 at the end of April this year from 1,984,428 in April 2022, accounting for a 91.1% growth.
The number of flights through Muscat International Airport increased this year to 28,939 compared to 16,262 in 2022 till the end of April, reflecting a 78% increase.
Salalah Airport also witnessed growth in passenger traffic, increasing 36.8% to 390,355m, while the number of flights increased 30.9% to 2,842.
Sohar Airport welcomed 5,669 passengers on 86 flights, while Duqm Airport handled 21,610 passengers on 204 flights.
