Alwane Bahrain launches No Food Waste awareness campaign

Alwane Bahrain Society’s Environment Committee will launch an awareness campaign to establish correct behaviors among citizens and residents of the Kingdom of Bahrain regarding food waste, reduce the negative environmental, social, and economic consequences of this waste, and emphasize the importance of responsible food consumption. This campaign includes a variety of initiatives, such as making promotional videos to raise awareness about the need to reduce food waste, the distribution of awareness posters to hotels, restaurants, and supermarkets, media broadcasting of awareness messages, and holding seminars with experts from the environmental, agricultural, commercial, and economic fields. The “No Food Waste” campaign focuses on shifting consumption habits toward smart food purchases, reusing and recycling food, turning excess food into fertilizer, purchasing environmentally friendly products, establishing food banks, supporting charity societies, following the sustainable green circular economy methodology, and supporting sustainable development goals, such as “sustainable production and consumption.” Mr. Ammar Awachi, president of Bahrain Alwane Society, said the “No Food Waste” campaign is part of the Society’s voluntary activities aimed at raising awareness of Bahraini society about the most pressing issues. “Food provision has become an issue of global concern, especially in light of developments in countries that are the largest exporters
