NBK, Refood support low-income families in Ramadan initiative

KUWAIT: National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) and Refood continue supporting low-income families in "Ramadan Basket“ initiative. This is a food solidarity initiative that is launched as part of NBK's Annual Ramadan Program "Do Good Deeds in Ramadan“. Refood and NBK volunteers collected, sorted and stored surplus food and goods to share to the 3000 unprivileged families in Kuwait. Through this initiative, rescuing food and saving the environment go hand-in-hand.

NBK and Refood volunteers deliver the "Ramadan Basket“ via refrigerated trucks to maintain the quality and safety of products. The baskets are tailored to meet long-term family's needs and include food and non-food high quality items as well as household requirements. The main objective of this initiative is to bridge the gap between the excess food in the industry and the lack of food with in the beneficiary communities.

NBK in partnership with Refood is pleased to create such an initiative that encourages sustainable solutions and reduces food waste.
