Head of Food Importers’ Syndicate: Russia’s grain export suspension will not affect Lebanon

NNA - Head of Food Importersrsquo; Syndicate in Lebanon, Hani Bohsali, on Thursday assured the Lebanese that there was no need to worry about a local grain shortage in the wake of Russia#39;s decision to suspend its participation in the Ukrainian grain export agreement through the Black Sea.

ldquo;There are alternative global sources for grain imports besides Ukraine,rdquo; he affirmed.nbsp;

However, Bohsali feared that this matter would bear a negative impact on global markets.nbsp;

ldquo;This will lead to an increase in the prices of many commodities, especially wheat and oils,rdquo; he warned, calling on concerned Lebanese officials to swiftly tackle this issue.nbsp;
