The event aims to highlight risks and improve knowledge among various sectors, such as producers, processors, transporters, retailers, and consumers, about food safety, quality, and public health protection.

The opening ceremony was held under the auspices of Dr Hilal bin Ali al Sabti, Minister of Health.

Further, the Food Safety Week 2024 aims to augment the capabilities of human resources and to develop available resources to keep pace with developments in the field of food industry.

The first day activities of the event included discussion panels on various topics related to food regulation, fish farming and various risks in the food sector.

Several seminars are being held alongside the event to address challenges in the food sector and to propose innovative solutions that contribute to economic development. Food
