MAFWR issued 722 water licences in March 2024
Muscat – A total of 722 water licences were issued in March 2024, according to statistics released by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources (MAFWR). In a statement, MAFWR said, ‘The licences issued include requests for registering wells, dams and aflaj, for drilling wells, and development projects in various governorates.’
According to MAFWR data, the maximum number of licences – 166 – were issued in North Sharqiyah, followed by 140 in Dakhliyah, 121 in Dhahirah, 99 in South Batinah, 57 in Buraimi, 53 in North Batinah, 34 in South Sharqiyah, 27 in Muscat, 11 in Al Wusta, eight in Musandam and six in Dhofar.
