Oman, India seek to expand work in fisheries sector



MUSCAT: Oman and India are poised to enhance the scope for work in the fisheries sector, enriching the fisheries' wealth, sustaining the existing trade, and improving bilateral relations.Accordingly, the Oman Chapter of the Indo-Gulf Middle East Chamber of Commerce (INMECC) seeks to gather opinion and expertise on the various challenges and opportunities in the Oman Fisheries Sector on Sunday.The one-day event organised in association with the Foreign Investment Committee (FIC) under the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) will see experts from Oman and India, according to Shurooq al Farsi, Coordinator of OCCI FIC, and C K Khanna, Secretary of INMECC Oman chapter. The event will be held under the auspices of Faisal al Rawas, Chairman of OCCI.Faisal al Rawas, Amit Narang, Ambassador of India to Oman, Abdul Latheef, Chairman-OCCI Foreign Investment Committee, Davis Kallukaran, Director-INMECC, and Dr N M Sharafudeen, Chairman-INMECC, will be the keynote speakers.Mohammed Hanish, IAS, Principal Secretary of Industries, Government of Kerala and Jeevan M D, Samudra Shipping India, will speak on ‘Muscat water metro-A tourist’s perspective’, while Mohamed Ameen of Sea Pride Oman will shed light on ‘Challenges and Opportunities in the Oman Fisheries.’An in-depth presentation by the Invest Oman team will be
