Mahaseel markets 60 million kgs of vegetables in three years – The Peninsula

Doha: Mahaseel for Marketing and Agri services company (a subsidiary of Hassad Food) has succeeded in marketing nearly 60 million kgs of local agricultural produce in the Qatari market, over the past three years.

Hassad’s investment strategy includes supporting and developing local projects that contribute to achieving food security. In line with that and in coordination with the Ministry of Municipality – Mahaseel provides marketing and agricultural services to farmers, with the aim of showcasing the added value of local produce and motivate farmers to increase and enhance local production.

Over the past three years, Mahaseel received around 50,000 supplies, and received approximately 5.5 million kgs of local produce per month, during peak times. The company receives vegetables of different grades, following the technical specifications approved by the Ministry of Municipality, and published on the company’s website.

Moreover, in coordination with the Ministry of Municipality, Mahaseel provides its services to more than 400 local farms and markets their fresh produce through 100 outlets around the country.

The company also provides training courses to farmers and conducts field visits to farms.
