Qatar Chamber & Islamic Organization for Food Security discuss cooperation

Officials from the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IFOS) held a meeting aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two agencies in the agriculture and food sectors.

Qatar Chamber Board Member and Chair of its Food Security Committee Mr. Mohamed bin Ahmed Al Obaidly met with Prof. Yerian A. Baidaulet, Director-General of the IFOS. Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Qatar H E Arman Issagaliyev and the General Counsel of IFOS Mr. Nursalim Suleimenov were also present during the interaction.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed cooperation to pave the way for the Qatari private sector and its colleagues in IFOS’ 36 Islamic member states to promote mutual investment, and ways to enhance cooperation between the two institutions.

Mr. Al Obaidly underlined the importance of strengthening cooperation among Islamic countries in food security, emphasizing the need for these economies to be open to various global economies and to build strong ties in the agro and food industries that allow the private sector to play a vital role in enhancing food security in Islamic countries.

The Chair of the QC Food Safety Committee reiterated the importance of a common agreement governing cooperation between various parties to increase trade and investment transfer
