Saudi Arabia bans poultry from Argentine region, lifts ban on French imports

Saudi Gazette report RIYADH — The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has imposed a temporary ban on the import of poultry meat, table eggs and allied products from Buenos Aires, Argentina, following the outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza in the region. Meanwhile, the authority said it decided to lift a temporary ban on importing poultry products from the French region of Maine. The decision was based on a report received from the World Organization for Animal Health stating that highly pathogenic avian influenza had been brought under control in the region of Maine.
