Bahrain records 101% increase in year-on-year trade balance for November – ArabianBusiness

Bahrain’s trade balance saw a surplus of BD2m ($5.3m) in November, a 101 percent improvement from the BD163m ($432m) deficit for the same period last year as the country recovers from the impact of coronavirus on its economy.

According to the kingdom’s foreign trade report, issued by the Information and eGovernment Authority on Tuesday, the value of imports increased by 13 percent, reaching BD453million ($1.2bn), during November 2021 compared to BD402m ($1.06bn) for the same month in 2020.

The top ten countries accounted for 71 percent of the value of imports, with China coming up first with a total of BD67m ($177.7m). Brazil was second with BD55m ($145.8m), and the UAE third with BD36m ($95.5).
