BRCS organizes training course on international humanitarian law

The Bahrain Red Crescent Society (BRCS) organized a training course in international humanitarian law, within the framework of the Society's work to implement the joint training plan for this year with the International Committee of the Red Cross for the GCC countries. About 30 members of the Society participated in the two-day workshop that dealt with several themes, including international humanitarian law and armed conflicts, objects protected under international humanitarian law, the relationship of international humanitarian law to human rights law, and the concept of direct participation in hostilities. Mr. Moez Al-Hadhali, Mr. Ali Al-Badrawi, and Ms. Zakia Boukamal attended the session. The Secretary-General of the Society, Mr. Mubarak Al-Hadi, valued the partnership with the ICRC, which comes as an extension of a long history of cooperation and training over the past years, in which the experiences and practices of the Red Crescent were refined on the one hand, and the graduation of new trainers is being prepared to continue the same approach. In his speech during the course delivered on his behalf by the head of the Public Relations Committee of the Society, Ali Kaddem Modon, Al-Hadi explained that this training course comes in the context of qualifying volunteers
