Egypt repaid USD 6.8bln in debts in Q1 2020: CBE

Egypt has repaid USD 6.8 billion of its foreign debt obligations in January-March 2020, the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) said.



A report issued by the bank on Tuesday said the repaid debts include 5.66 billion dollars in debt installments and 1.14 billion dollars as interest.



According to the bank, Egypt paid back 10.8 billion dollars from October 2019 till March 2020.



Earlier, the CBE said that Egypt's foreign debts recorded 111.29 billion dollars in March, down from 112.7 billion dollars in December 2019.
