Malaysia keen on enhancing investment cooperation with Egypt: Malaysian Min. – Egypt Today

CAIRO – 18 April 2022: Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry Nevin Gamea held an expanded session of talks with the Malaysian Minister of Agricultural Industries and Commodities Zuraida Kamaruddin on Sunday to review aspects of industrial, investment and commercial cooperation between the two countries. The meeting was attended by Malaysian Ambassador to Cairo, Zamani Ismail, Assistant Minister for Economic Affairs, Ibrahim Al-Sigini, and Advisor to the Minister for Institutional Communication, Hatem Al-Ashry, as well as representatives of the Timber, Rubber and Palm Oil Councils in Malaysia. The minister said that the meeting dealt with ways to enhance joint cooperation between the two countries in the field of Malaysian palm oil production in Egypt and export to regional and continental markets. Gamea explained that the Egyptian market currently possesses all the elements that attract investment, which include the appropriate investment and legislative environment, noting that Egypt is heading during the current stage to establish tire factories, which can rely on Malaysian rubber through Importing it for the Egyptian market and manufacturing it with an Egyptian-Malaysian partnership in order to meet the needs of the local market and export.
