DP World, Uzbekistan ink framework deal for strategic trade & digital ties

Dubai-based largest port operator, DP World has signed a framework agreement with Uzbekistan in order to expand its presence in the country, boosting global trade flow and supporting the development of digital infrastructure.

According to the statement, the agreement covers a wide range of cooperation sectors, all of which will help to strengthen Uzbekistan’s trade networks and establish DP World as a strategic partner in boosting international trade.

“The agreements include the establishment of a new inland logistics network, supporting the expansion of the Navoi Free Economic Zone (FEZ), and the cargo terminal at Navoi International Airport, launching new consumer e-commerce and fintech platforms in the country and streamlining customs operations,” the company said.

DP World will also deploy CARGOES’ advanced Port Community System to offer stakeholders in trade and logistics with seamless, paperless access to services including dry ports, logistics parks, ICDs, railway stations, and depots.
