Muscat – The Omani-Iranian Businessmen Council will hold a meeting at Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Wednesday.

Reza Fatemi-Amin, Iranian Industry, Mining and Trade Minister, arrived in Oman on Tuesday. He met H E Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, and H E Qais Mohammed al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion.

The two sides reviewed bilateral relations and cooperation between the two friendly countries in various fields.

Mohamed Abdul Hussain Baqer, head of the Omani side in the Omani-Iranian Businessmen Council, said that the council seeks to encourage trade delegations between Oman and Iran and to hold trade fairs for Omani products in Iran as well as for Iranian products in the sultanate, and to raise the level of Iranian investments in Oman in sectors such as mining, fishing and medical materials.

“There are proposals for the establishment of Iranian companies in Oman in the tourism, mining and food sectors, and proposals for Omani companies to produce Iranian products. These proposals need primary steps, such as conducting economic feasibility studies and knowing their practicality in the Omani and Gulf markets,” said Baqer.

He explained that the council seeks to push for the export of Omani products to Iran
