OOMCO inks deal with Wakud to introduce biodiesel in Oman

Omani fuel marketing company, Oman Oil Marketing Company (OOMCO) has signed an agreement with the biodiesel project developer Wakud International (Wakud) in order to introduce biodiesel blends in Sultanate.

According to the statement, the two firms will explore the potential of selling different blends of biodiesel to customers in the Commercial and Marine segments.

The company noted that, “For corporations developing de-carbonization strategies, biodiesel can produce immediate impact without any capital expenditure.”

Biodiesel is appealing to marine clients who want to comply with IMO requirements and criteria for low-sulfur fuel because it contains nearly no sulfur, as per the statement.
