5th edition of Huawei ICT Competition opens for aspiring students across Qatar

In partnership with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE), Huawei is running the fifth edition of its flagship annual ICT Competition in Qatar.

Held under the theme ‘Connectivity, Honour, Future’, the competition will run from October until December, aimed at nurturing and empowering the future generation of the local ICT talents to effectively contribute to Qatar’s national plans and visions.

Following last year’s success, the Huawei Innovation Competition is scheduled to take place for the second consecutive year in parallel with the Huawei ICT Competition, and will empower undergraduate students and their teachers to use innovative technologies – such as artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing and big data – to create valuable and meaningful applications for society. Huawei has invited universities and colleges across the Middle East to participate in the Innovation Competition, with a total of 10 teams to be selected for the regional final this year.

The competition will welcome thousands of undergraduate students from across the Middle East, including Qatar, and will be held virtually in compliance with social distancing measures. Winners of the regional competitions will receive a certification, future learning opportunities, a $20,000
