Africa appreciates Qatar, open to partners: Egyptian envoy – The Peninsula

Ambassador of Egypt to Qatar H E Amr El Sherbini has emphasised Africa’s appreciation of Qatar as an effective partner while disclosing that the continent is open to partners.

Speaking during the Africa Day celebration in Doha on Wednesday, El Sherbini, who serves as president of the African Group of Ambassadors in Qatar, said Qatar shows significant interest in Africa and is a reliable and effective partner in its economic development.

The Africa Day event was attended by heads of missions from Africa, Europe, Asia and South America attached to Qatar. Besides, Director of African Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Abdulla bin Hassan Al Jaber and Director of the Protocol Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs H E Ibrahim Yousif Fakhro were also in attendance.

“Qatar works hard to develop and consolidate its cooperation with our continent in all fields by employing the best available capabilities and opportunities to serve our common interest,” El Sherbini said.

The Egyptian envoy noted that despite the challenges, Africa remains the continent of youth and future, and it strives to achieve a steady pace of development by implementing continental projects via the collective efforts of various African agencies, in addition to regional trade
