Ashghal records increase in Qatarisation rate

The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has said that the number of Qatari employees has increased over the past four years by 135%. An official statement explained that the number of Qatari engineers has also increased up to 163%.

“There are currently 425 Qatari engineers in Ashghal who are employed with a scholarship or as a replacement/ Qatarisation plan in line with Qatar National Vision 2030. The Authority is making great efforts to increase the Qatarisation,” the statement noted.

Saif Ali al-Kaabi, manager of Human Resources Department, said that one of Ashghal’s strategic goals is to increase the number of qualified Qatari employees and develop their capabilities and competencies through our development and training programs.

He explained that the authority’s role extends beyond constructing roads, bridges, drainage networks, and governmental establishments buildings; but it’s also responsible for developing the capabilities of Qatari employees, training and qualifying them to be able to manage and operate these assets and increase their efficiency.
