Qatar Chamber, Azerbaijan Officials look to set up Business Council

The Qatar Chamber has held a meeting with the Small and Medium Business (SMB) Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan in order to review the opportunities for establishing a joint business council.

During the meeting held on the sidelines of the ongoing Qatar International Agriculture Exhibition (AgriteQ 2022), the Chairman of Qatar Chamber, Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim al-Thani met with the SMB Development Agency’s Chairman, Mr. Orkhan Mammadov, to further discuss matters pertaining to economic cooperation between Qatar and Azerbaijan.

The meeting also had the presence of the Qatar Chamber’s first Vice-Chairman Mr. Mohamed bin Towar al-Kuwari and the second Vice-Chairman Mr. Rashed bin Hamad al-Athba, as well as Azerbaijan ambassador to Qatar, Mr. Rashad Ismayilov.

The officials deliberated on economic and trading relations between Qatar and Azerbaijan and ways of enhancing them, as well as the investment climate and opportunities available on both sides. One of the key highlights of the meeting was the possibility of signing a memorandum of understanding between Qatar and Azerbaijan chambers for the establishment of a joint business council.
