Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Health, in cooperation with the National Center for Privatization & PPP (NCP), offered an expression of interest proposal for two medical projects to serve the Northern and Southern Provinces, during the period from Dec. 29, 2021, to Jan. 10, 2022.

In a statement, NCP indicated that the two projects are King Faisal Medical City in Abha City, with a capacity of 1,024 beds, and Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz Medical City in Sakaka City, Al-Jouf, with a capacity of 442 beds.

The public–private partnership (PPP) comes with a model of design, construction, financing, non-medical operation, maintenance, and transportation.

The projects, which aim to provide specialized triple healthcare services, come to fulfill the high demand for this type of services, while taking into consideration the population growth rates in the Southern and Northern Provinces.

The participation of the private sector in the establishment and operation of hospitals and medical cities aims to achieve the goals of Vision 2030 that include increasing the private sector's share in providing healthcare services, improving infrastructure, and managing healthcare facilities.
