According to The New York Times, a plugged in electric saw was found near Saleh's torso. His limbs and head were found in the apartment shortly afterward on East Houston St. in Manhattan's Lower East Side.

Police officials said surveillance footage from the building shows a man wearing a black suit and a black mask enter the elevator with Mr. Saleh on Tuesday, then attack him once the doors opened into his apartment.

Mr. Saleh's body was found by his sister at around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.

There was evidence at the scene that some effort to hide evidence of the slaying was made, leading detectives to investigate whether Mr. Saleh's sister's arrival at the apartment led the killer to make a getaway using an alternate exit.
