Saudi MEWA, Coca-Cola Bottling Company unite to Protect the Environment

Saudi Arabian Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture (MEWA) is collaborating with the Coca-Cola bottling company of Saudi Arabia (CCBCSA) to protect the environment and persevere natural vegetation in support of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 sustainability goals.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), formalizing the engagement, was signed by Mr. Ghazai bin Saif Al-Otaibi, General Manager, Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, and Eng. Mohammed bin Abdullah Bahattab, Deputy General Manager, Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Saudi Arabia.

The signing ceremony was also attended by high-level representatives from the Ministry, Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODN), and CCBCSA.

The signing of the MoU follows a recent pledge between the Ministry and CCBCSA that both parties will contribute toward planting 1,200 trees around the CCBCSA plant at the Al Majma’ah Governorate in the Sudair region.

This project was developed to improve liveability in the country and is aligned with a key objective of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince’s Saudi Green Initiative to plant 10 billion trees and runs parallel to Green Riyadh’s goal of planting 7.5 million trees.
