ADIO partners with Microsoft, Plug and Play to support startups

UAE - Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) has partnered individually with Microsoft and Plug and Play to support the founders of early-stage companies and entrepreneurs through a number of initiatives.

Under these partnerships, ADIO will offer strategic funding for key projects that help early-stage and growth-driven companies, according to a press release on Tuesday.

Under the Microsoft for Startups Programme that offers Azure cloud services and business support tools, ADIO and Microsoft will collaborate in launching a number of initiatives that will enable startups to grow.

As part of the agreement, Microsoft will manage several programmes, including Microsoft Growth X Accelerator, over a five-year period to promote the regional technology startup ecosystem.

As for its partnership with Plug and Play which manages accelerator programmes in the Middle East from Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), ADIO will develop two of the existing accelerators, focusing on FinTech and HealthTech.

ADIO will also launch a new accelerator programme for a third sector that will be operated within the first half (H1) of 2021.
