Dubai’s DP World reports volume growth of 11.9% in Q3 2021

Dubai-based port operator DP World Limited has handled 58.4 million TEU (twenty-foot equivalent units) across its global portfolio of container terminals during the first nine months of 2021. Its gross container volumes have increased 11.9 per cent year-on-year on a reported basis and are up 11.4 per cent on a like-for-like basis. In Q3 2021, DP World handled 19.8 million TEU, up 8.1 per cent year-on-year and which marks an increase of 7.9 per cent on a like-for-like basis. In Q3 2021, the gross volume growth was mainly driven by Asia Pacific, India, Middle East & Africa and Australia with a strong performance from Qingdao (China), Mumbai (India) and Sokhna (Egypt). Jebel Ali in Dubai handled 3.4 million TEU during this period, a 0.6 percent year-on-year increase.
