Dubai’s Emirates Group to recruit more than 500 IT professionals

Emirates Group, the operator of Emirates Airline , is looking to further expand its payroll over the next several months, as the air travel industry continues to bounce back from the coronavirus pandemic, according to a statement released on Tuesday. More than 500 IT professionals will be recruited in the next six months, the Dubai Media Office said, citing that the company is looking to build its own “talent pipeline” to deal with cybersecurity, technical product management, digital workplace and innovation, among others. “The Emirates Group is experiencing strong air travel demand across all areas of the business, and a range of opportunities will be available for skilled IT professionals to be part of [the company],” the statement said. Adel Al Redha, Emirates’ Chief Operating Officer, said the aviation company continues to allocate funds for technology to introduce AI-based solutions to serve customers better. Emirates Group reported a loss of 22.1 billion dirhams ($6 billion) for the financial year ended March 31, 2021. Last October, Emirates Airline said it will be recruiting an additional 6,000 people to fill several positions, including pilots, cabin crew, engineering specialists and ground staff. About 1,200 of the new recruits will include aircraft engineers and
