How Scotland is using Expo 2020 Dubai to strengthen bilateral relations – ArabianBusiness.com

Leading trade figures from Scotland are looking to cement a future strategic partnership agreement with Dubai and build on bilateral relations.

The UAE is currently Scotland’s 12th biggest export market, not including oil and gas, but centred predominantly on tourism, food and drink, engineering and manufacturing. However, that represents just two percent of overall exports from the country.

Dr Liz Cameron, director and chief executive of the Scottish Chambers of Commerce, told Arabian Business: “For us that is a massive opportunity for Scottish businesses to really focus everything we’ve got in, quite frankly, lifting our heads and going out to the rest of the world.”
