IsDB ready to work with all development partners: Al Jasser

JEDDAH — The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) affirmed that it stands ready to work together with all multilateral development banks, international finance Institutes, and other development partners towards achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for its member countries. This came during IsDB President Dr. Muhammad Al Jasser’s participation in a panel discussion on “A Shared Sustainable Recovery Based on SDGs,” held on Tuesday as a part of the “International Forum on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development” at the Italian Pavilion in Dubai Expo 2020 during the “Global Goals Week”. The forum aims to foster a culture of sustainability, with a focus on the governance of the process and the role of the private sector and of civil society. The panelists also included Italy’s Minister of Infrastructure and Sustainable Mobility Enrico Giovannini as well as the EU Commission’s Deputy Director-General for International Cooperation and Development, Marjeta Jager. Dr. Al Jasser said that the IsDB Group actively pursues counter-cyclical financing to its 57 member countries when they need it most.
