Ras Al Khaimah Municipality and Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone name winners of RAK Energy Innovation Competition – MEP MiddleEast

An award ceremony was held at RAKEZ, following social distancing measures, to hail the winners of the school edition of RAK Energy Innovation Competition (#RAKInnovates).

The competition, organised by Ras Al Khaimah Municipality and sponsored by RAKEZ, comprised two challenges catering to all school cycles, and kicked off in January 2020. Over 50 schools participated and more than 100 submissions were received from students.

Through their submissions, students showcased innovative ideas on how to promote energy and water savings in Ras Al Khaimah communities.

An evaluation panel, composed of members of the Energy Efficiency and Renewables Committee of Ras Al Khaimah, assessed and selected the most deserving ideas.

The winners and runners-up of the RAK Energy Innovation Competition (School Edition) were

Cycle 1: Winner, Mahra Ebrahim Almazrouei from Azhan School for Primary Education; Runner-up, Student Environmental Protection Team (Asayel Almazrouei & Reem Almazrouei) from Azhan School for Primary Education.

Cycle 2: Winner, Shekha Maiza from New Indian School Ras Al Khaimah; Runner-up, Fatema Ali Rashed from Al Hamhaam Secondary School
