UAE Business: Clean Energy Business Council names new board members – Gulf Digital News








 





Clean Energy Business Council (CEBC) has announced its board of directors for 2021-2023 period with three new members including a financial industry expert. 





 





CEBC is a non-profit, non governmental association that brings together leading local and international organizations involved in the clean energy sector across the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) from both the private and public spheres. It is the only clean energy industry group to cover the region.





 





The three new members include:





•Alfons Juan, Director of Renewable Development at Acwa Power





•Lina Osman, Regional Head of Sustainable Finance for AMEA at Standard Chartered Bank





•Mustapha Aanzi, General Manager for Energy Efficiency GCC at Johnson Controls





 





The trio brings a wealth of experiences in sustainable finance, energy efficiency and renewable energy development which would add great value to the CEBC activities and its members, said the council in a statement. 





 





CEBC pointed out that it has a very important role to play especially over the next two years as Egypt and the UAE will be hosting COP27 and COP28 respectively. 





 





This add a lot of responsibility on the CEBC to support the governments in the region to establish initiatives and partnerships with the private sector to show leadership and progress in the climate change agenda,
