UAE Business: Huawei reveals next-generation data centre facility – Gulf Digital News

Huawei has revealed the definition of the Next-Generation Data Centre Facility, and unveiled PowerPOD 3.0, a brand-new power supply system in Dongguan, China.

The new rollouts, based on the collective wisdom and joint efforts between Huawei Data Centre Facility Team and industry experts, reaffirm Huawei’s commitment to building low-carbon, smart data centres.

Charles Yang, Senior Vice President of Huawei and CEO of Huawei Data Centre Facility Team, introduced the groundbreaking definition of the Next-Generation Data Centre Facility at the launch event. He said that technical experts and industry authorities have reached a consensus on the four characteristics of next-generation data centre facilities after extensive and in-depth discussions, that is, Sustainable, Simplified, Autonomous Driving, and Reliable.

Next-generation data centre facilities will be fully green and energy-efficient while maximising the recycling of all data centre materials. In this way, the overall data centre ecosystem will be eco-friendly and environmentally sustainable.

Sustainable data centres can be achieved by utilising green resources - electricity, land, and water - and maximising the recycling of used materials throughout the life cycle. In addition to the extensively-used Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE), other indicators, including Carbon Usage Effectiveness (CUE), Water Usage Effectiveness (WUE), and Grid Usage Effectiveness (GUE), will also be used
