UAE Business: World Future Energy Summit 2022 to focus on solar energy – Gulf Digital News

With solar capacity in the Mena region slated to reach up to 8,309 MW by 2022, the most abundant source of renewable energy will come under the spotlight at the Solar Expo & Forum of the World Future Energy Summit 2022 in Abu Dhabi.

 

The Summit, from January 17 to 19, 2022 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, will be held as part of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2022, hosted by Masdar. 

 

The Solar Expo is the world’s leading business event for future energy and sustainability and will focus particularly on the latest innovations and economic opportunities available through harnessing the power of sunlight.

 

The market potential demonstrated by solar energy is undeniably huge, with industry speculators forecasting that renewable electricity generation in 2021 is set to expand by more than 8% to reach 8,300 TWh – the fastest year-on-year growth since the 1970s. Solar PV and wind are set to contribute two-thirds of renewables growth.
