RCSI Bahrain continues its collaboration with “Smile”

Prof. Samir Al Atoum, President of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland – Medical University of Bahrain (RCSI-Bahrain), received Mr. Sabah Abdul Rahman Al Zayani, Chairman of the Future Society for Youth and members of the Board of Directors in the presence of a several officials and professors at the College.

During the course of the meeting, Prof. Al Atoum and his associates reviewed the joint programmes organised by the college over the past two years. These events were introduced to support the efforts of the initiative with the college organising numerous sporting and artistic events, as well as establishing several ‘awareness platforms’ throughout the college campuses. These platforms play an essential role in raising awareness of childrens’ cancers amongst staff and students studying at the college. Furthermore, several students have been participating in the events facilitated by the “Smile” initiative throughout the year, and discussions are taking place with the student body to ensure continued joint cooperation when it comes to “Smile” in the future.

Following the conclusion of the meeting, Prof. Al Atoum generously provided support to the initiative, drawn from the revenue of the many events that have been taking place at the college. Every year the initiative’s
