1105 educational classes established in 1500 villages under Haya Karima initiative – Egypt Today

CAIRO - 11 August 2022: The Egyptian government directed total investments to the education sectors by about EGP 77.2 billion, as part of the economic and social development plan for the new fiscal year 2022/2023 submitted by the Minister of Planning, Dr. Hala Al-Saeed, and approved by Parliament in its two chambers. The investments include: working in the pre-university education sector to reduce the density of classes; creating, replacing and renovating 25,000 classrooms at all educational levels; establishing and developing about 13.8 thousand classrooms, and maintaining 1,430 schools; establshing, developing and expanding 8,400 classrooms at all educational levels in 75 urban communities located within the geographical scope of the first phase of the national project for the development of the Egyptian countryside Haya Karima. The plan aims to continue reducing the illiteracy rate to 17 percent in 22/23 compared to 19 percent in 21 /22. - Implementation of 2,427 projects, including 1,130 projects for the construction of school buildings. - Conducting 1,297 development projects and raising efficiency to establish and develop 1,105 educational classes to serve the people of 1,477 villages. - Allocating more than 2.7 billion pounds to the education sector within the "Haya Karima" initiative by 21/22. A
