7 Egyptian universities listed in Shanghai Ranking 2022 – EgyptToday – Egypt Today

CAIRO - 18 August 2022: Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, reviewed a report on the inclusion of 7 Egyptian universities in the Shanghai Chinese General Classification (ARWU), for the year 2022, compared to the inclusion of six universities last year 2021. Dr. Adel Abdel Ghaffar, media advisor and official spokesperson for the ministry, said that the list of Egyptian universities listed in the Shanghai classification witnessed progress this year, with an increase from last year, as Cairo University topped the first place at the level of Egyptian universities. Cairo University ranked (301-400) globally, advancing by 100 places from last year, followed by Alexandria University in the 501-600 position, advancing by 100 places from last year, then Mansoura University in the position (601-700), advancing by 100 positions, followed by Ain Shams University in the (701-800) rank, Al-Azhar University in the (801-900) rank, ahead of 100 places from last year, and Zagazig University in the (801-900) rank, and Kafr El-Sheikh University ranked (901-1000) which was listed for the first time this year. The official spokesman indicated that Cairo University ranked first at the level of Egyptian universities in the graduate performance index, with 17.7 points, followed
