Egypt’s iSchool boosts global expansion plans via $4.5m funding



Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt-based edtech iSchool has raised $4.50 million in a funding round led by VentureWave Capital, OneStop Capital UK, Webit Investment Network, and Oraseya Capital.

The newly raised capital will drive iSchool's global expansion into six additional countries in the MENA region, according to a press release.

The startup will also use the funding to facilitate technological scaling for the Online Coding Platform and widen its gamified online classroom app service throughout Sub-Saharan Africa.

Founded in 2018 by Muhammad Gawish, Ebrahim Youssef, Mustafa Abdelmon'em, and Osama Ghareb, iSchool offers live gamified classes for students aged six to 18.  

It provides solutions for the 100 million students that do not have access to technology education curricula or programmes in the MENA region.

iSchool works with 35 schools, providing technical training, and CS labs, all of which led to managing national-level initiatives in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.
