Mikati meets foreign diplomats, discusses educational affairs with contractual teachers

NNA - Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, on Monday welcomed in the presence of Minister of Education, Abbas Al-Halabi, and Head of the Parliamentary Education Committee, MP Bahia Hariri, a delegation representing the Contractual Teachers’ Committee at the Grand Serail.

Following the meeting, primary teaching committee head, Hussein Saad, said that an agreement had been reached with Premiere Mikati to approve a transportation allowance decree for contractual teachers. 

“If approved tomorrow by the Council of Ministers, all contractual teachers will join schools on Thursday morning,” pledged Saad. 

On another level, Mikati welcomed at the Grand Serail British Ambassador to Lebanon, Ian Collard, and French Ambassador to Lebanon, Anne Grillo. 

Mikati then separately met with a joint delegation of army and internal security forces’ retirees.
