Joint Team Formed Between Omani Private Educational Institutions and the Arabian Gulf University to Deepen Joint Academic, Research Cooperation

His Excellency Dr Saad bin Saud Al Fuhaid, President of the Arabian Gulf University (AGU), discussed with Her Excellency Dr Rahma bint Ibrahim Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation of the Sultanate of Oman, the means to deepening academic and research cooperation. During the meeting, Dr Al Fuhaid and Dr Al Mahrouqi discussed increasing the number of Omani students studying medical specialties at the University, while they also explored opportunities to attract academic and scientific expertise through joint conferences and seminars.Moreover, they discussed strengthening academic and research relations between local educational institutions and their counterparts in the GCC countries. The officials also discussed future specialisations needed by the Gulf labour market to achieve sustainable development, such as waste management, innovation management, and digital learning.Dr Al Fuhaid and the accompanying delegation reviewed the university’s projects and strategic plans for the coming period, including innovative academic programmes at the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels.
