New initiative launched to boost scientific research

Muscat – In a move to bolster the research and education community, the Oman Research and Education Network (OMREN) has introduced a new service aimed at providing its members an exceptional experience.

Supervised by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, OMREN has launched a bulk SMS service to facilitate quick and effective communication among member institutions, students, academic staff and affiliates.

The service will enable dissemination of important information, updates and awareness campaigns through SMS, fostering high-level interaction.

Highlighting the significance of OMREN’s half-million bulk SMS service, Najah Mohammed al Rashdi, Director of Innovation Park Muscat, said it will empower all members to meet their diverse needs – like sending updates or promotional short messages – effortlessly and efficiently, without concerns about cost.

There are numerous advantages of using OMREN’s new service. It is free of charge and the service is automatically renewed annually, ensuring uninterrupted service.

Additionally, a user-friendly control system enables easy management and recording of all relevant information. OMREN also provides a support plan, offering assistance to members in managing and optimising the service through strategic service providers with round-the-clock support.

‘We urge relevant teams in affiliated organisations to fully utilise and benefit from this service,’ a statement said.
