Oman chairs 1st meeting of GCC higher education, academic accreditation officials

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman chaired the first meeting of officials tasked with higher education assurance in GCC states. The meeting was held at the premises of the Advisory Board of the GCC Supreme Council in Muscat Governorate today. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Jokha Abdullah Al Shukaili, CEO of Oman Authority for Academic Accreditation and Educational Quality Assurance. It was attended by heads of GCC higher education assurance and academic accreditation institutions. The meeting reviewed the strategic plan of the Gulf Network for Quality Assurance (2021-2025), a proposal to establish a joint database for auditors and academic evaluators in GCC states, with the prime aim of disseminating knowledge and information on the quality of higher education. The meeting also discussed a proposal to exchange training programmes and advisory services among GCC institutions entrusted with ensuring the quality of higher education and academic accreditation.
