Muscat: The Education endowment foundation, 'Siraj', launched its new initiative titled 'University Student Sponsorship' under the patronage of Dr Rahma bint Ibrahim al Mahrooqi, Minister of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation.The initiative aims to support university students from financially disadvantaged or needy families, who study in private higher education institutions and do not receive financial support from other sources. It provides monthly financial assistance covering transportation, rent, and living expenses, to enable students to focus on their studies without worrying about financial problems.Dr Rahma stated that the 'University Student Sponsorship' initiative aims to provide effective and tangible support to university students from financially disadvantaged families. "The initiative seeks to provide financial assistance to alleviate the financial burden on students and enable them to focus on their studies without worry," she said, adding that everyone is invited to be part of this initiative and contribute actively to support university students.Participation in this initiative can be through financial support, volunteering, or even raising awareness about it.
